Mission Statement
The DeKalb Tea Party is an organization that exists for the purpose of giving a platform and a united voice to the citizens of our community, our state, and our nation to express their frustration with, and opposition to, the course the National Government has taken.
We are an independent grassroots organization with no allegiance to any National political party, National organization, or National leaders.
We are composed of a diverse group of people who may differ on social issues but who are united in support of a core set of common values:
· Limited Government
A National Government whose scope of authority is limited to the enumerated powers delegated to it by Constitution of the United States and which does not usurp the powers reserved to the States and to the People.
· Fiscal Responsibility
A Government that handles the public finances like the people handle their family finances – spends less than it earns and spends it wisely.
· Free Enterprise
An economy free of Government ownership, excessive Government regulation, and Government manipulation. An economy free to provide the goods and services demanded by consumers and not mandated by legislators and bureaucrats.
We hold fast to the vision of freedom as bequeathed to us by our Founding Fathers through the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. We will accomplish our goals through public demonstrations and events, through support of candidates who share our values and vision, and through the ballot box.
