9-11 Rally for God and Country
Thanks to everyone who attended the rally on 9-11-2010 in Fort Payne City Park. In spite of threatening skies and occasional rain showers, hundreds of Patriots from DeKalb County were joined by fellow Patriots from around the state of Alabama as well as Georgia, Tennessee, and North Carolina.
This rally was a great opportunity to hear inspiring messages from our speakers, including Les Phillip, John Killian, Dale Peterson, Shadrack McGill, and others. Further inspiration was provided by our musical talent including Payton Sells, George Hughes and Southern Praise, and a group from Montgomery called Unity. Just as important was the opportunity to meet and talk with our fellow Tea Party members. We made new friends and contacts, shared news of Tea Party activities in other counties and came away with a new resolve to work toward changing the direction and makeup of our Government - local, state, and national - this November.
The Tea Party IS you, the people, and we are grateful to you for making the event a success and grateful for what you will do between now and November 2 to support the candidates who share our values and for your efforts to get out the vote. We are also grateful to the speakers and musicians who selflessly donate their time and talents, to the volunteers who donate their time and energy, to WFPA NewsTalk 1400 for running the program and providing the live broadcast, and to the organizers: Mary Anne Cole, George Killian, and Tony Goolesby for planning and funding the event.
